This is another no sweat yet delicious homemade recipe. Tastes good and easy to make, can be a fulfilling part of a big weekend brunch or breakfast. By simply mixing and frying, your craving appetite will be soothed. Here’s how to make buttered potato griddle cakes. Try this out!
Ingredients
  • ½ lbs potatoes (227 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1¼ cups flour (150 g)
  • 2 cups milk (480 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
  • 1 dash white pepper
  • 5 tablespoons Butter (150 g)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (15 ml)
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg and stir a little amount of milk. Mix flour, sugar and pour remaining milk a little at a time while beating.
  2. Set aside mixture for 2 hours.
  3. Peel and shred potatoes, then stir into the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Season with salt and pepper until desired taste is obtained.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and melt a little butter in the pan, just enough to coat the pan.
  6. Spoon a thin layer of the mixture into the skillet.
  7. Cook on each side until golden brown, and place on a warmed serving platter.
  8. Continue with remaining mixture, cooking them until golden brown.
  9. Spread with butter on top of each potato cake.
  10. Serve immediately with bacon and lingonberry jam.
Notes
You could also serve this with sour cream and apple sauce, together with sliced oranges, strawberries, and lingonberry.
