Cheddar Potato cake recipe is one of the easiest among potato cake recipes. Basic cooking skills are all you need for this recipe. What’s special about this potato cake is its rich and creamy melted cheese that is absorbed by the potatoes when it is baked. This can be perfect for a heavy lunch and dinner! Simply follow these steps.
Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons Butter (10 g)
  • 6 kg Potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium size onions, thinly sliced
  • 10 cups cheddar cheese, grated (1000 g)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (5 g)
  • Pepper
  • Mixed salad leaves
Instructions
  1. First, preheat oven to 356 degrees F and lubricate a 20 cm baking pan with butter.
  2. Arrange potatoes, onion and grated cheese in alternating layers in the baking pan until they are all used up. Add seasoning and finish with last layer of potatoes.
  3. Spread the remaining butter over the top. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about one hour, until potatoes are soft and golden brown on the surface.
  4. Allow potatoes to cool for at least 15 minutes before removing from the baking pan. Slice the potato cake into wedges and serve warm with mixed salad leaves.
