This recipe ends up into another simple yet fulfilling dish. In just an hour and with fundamental baking skills, you could easily make this delicious cake for special occasions. Almost everyone loves chocolate cake, what more if potatoes are added to it, you would love it even more!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes (175 g)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (220 g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (5 g)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (15 g)
  • 8 tablespoons butter (118.32 ml) or 8 tablespoons margarine, softened (118.32 ml)
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares, melted (113.39 g)
  • 2 cups sugar (473.18 g)
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup buttermilk (177.44 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (5 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5 ml)
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, except the chocolate. Mix with an electric mixer on a low speed until well blended; occasionally scrape the bowl with a spatula. Whip mixture at medium speed for 4 minutes. Stir in chocolates and blend thoroughly.
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan using butter. Pour mixture into the pan.
  3. Bake cake mixture in a preheated 350 oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Or bake in three 9-inch layer pans for 20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow cooling for 10 minutes; Remove from pans and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Serve and Enjoy!
