Homemade Potato Chip Recipe

Everyone loves potato chips, they are sold everywhere and you can purchase them anytime you want. But the question is do these potato chips suit your healthy diet? Usually, commercially prepared potato chips have higher calorie, fat and salt content, and you don’t want to compromise your healthy regimen by eating these junk foods. You don’t have to worry about that, this carefree recipe is your way out; this ends up into delicious and healthy potato chips. With the use of your microwave oven, you’ll be able to make them in no time. Just follow this recipe and your potato chips will come out golden and delicious.
Ingredients
  • 1 medium russet potato
  • parchment paper
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (10 g)
  • optional seasonings: chili powder, Creole seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, etc.
  • cup Vinegar (120 ml)
Instructions
  1. Using a mandolin or v-slicer, cut one medium russet potato into paper-thin slices, making sure that all slices are the same thickness. (You can peel potato as desired.)
  2. Line the turntable tray of your microwave with parchment paper and arrange potato slices on it without overlapping. Salt lightly and sprinkle with your choice of seasonings.
  3. Microwave potato at full power until spots of brown begin to appear, takes about 4-6 minutes. Turn off the microwave for 1 minute.
  4. Microwave again at full power until the slices are golden brown. (Be very careful not to over-brown or they will taste burned.)
  5. Remove cooked potato chips from the microwave and allow to cool. Repeat procedures until all potato slices are cooked.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Dip potato slices into cider vinegar before placing on the parchment paper.
