How to Make Potato Patties

Now, we have here the basic and traditional way of making potato patties. Raw potatoes, in this recipe were boiled, mashed with cream cheese, and then chilled before they’re combined with other ingredients that eventually made them savory. But you can always use leftover mashed potatoes if you have them. For potato patties, all you have to do is basically mixing and frying, so these are truly simple and quick. Chilling/Cooling time is already included in the preparation time. Try this recipe and serve these potato patties as a lovely side dish or appetizer for any main course. Now, here’s how to make these.
Ingredients
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons flour (30 g)
  • ¼ grated onion
  • ¼ green onion
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 -4 tablespoons vegetable oil (30-45 ml)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
Instructions
  1. In a small covered pot, submerge potatoes into water and bring to a boil for 15-20 minutes or until tender.
  2. Drain potatoes well, removing excess water and transfer into a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in cream cheese into the bowl of cooked potatoes, and then mash them together using a fork or potato masher. Cool to room temperature or refrigerate overnight.
  4. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the mashed potatoes, flour, beaten eggs, onion and green onion, and then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat the oil in a large skillet over a medium high heat. Spoon potato mixture and shape them into small patties.
  6. Fry potato patties, approximately 1-2 minutes, until browned and crispy.
  7. Flip over and brown the other side.
  8. Drain on paper towels to remove oil.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
