The potato can be eaten at this point or it can be cut in half, the filling scooped out and mixed with almost anything, replaced in the potato and returned to the heat source until warmed through. The options are only limited to the cook’s imagination.

While many people believe that potatoes are high in fat, they are actually a nutrient-packed food that is quite healthy. The nutrition factor is increased when a person opts for a baked sweet potato. In fact, it is not the potato that is high in fat; it is the traditional condiments that contain the high fat content. Topping the baked potato with a spoon of salsa is only of the low-fat alternatives that packs a flavorful punch.
