Fast, Easy, Basic Mashed Potatoes Recipe
| Fast, Easy, Basic Mashed Potatoes Recipe |
- 2 pounds russet or red potatoes
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 to 1 cup milk
- salt and pepper
- Peel potatoes.
- Cut them in 4 pieces and cover with cold water.
- Boil and then simmer the potatoes in salted water until they are soft and tender (15-20minutes).
- Drain potatoes, put them back on low heat for a minute or so.
- Take them off.
- Add butter and milk.
- Mash the potatoes until they are smooth and add some more salt and pepper for the taste (try them).
- That’s it.

thank you so much for putting a simple recipe on here that i can get! my dad loves homeade mashed potatoes but i never have time to make them for dinner! tonite i do but i wanted a fast and easy recipe! thank you =)

the butter before the milk because then its still hot when you put the butter in if you put milk in first it might cool down the potatoes first
